The separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City, as well as cities of San Carlos and Bago in Negros Occidental, on December 8 and 9 led to the arrest of eight drug suspects, including a minor, the dismantling of a drug den, and recovery of about 333,200 worth of suspected shabu, police said.
PLt. Liberty Indiape, deputy spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office, reported last night that about 28 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P190,400 and P1,000 in marked money were recovered yesterday during a buy-bust operation at Purok Neptune in Brgy Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
Indiape identified the arrested drug suspect as Ernesto Cardeñas, with aliases Jun-jun and Tong, listed by the police as a High Value Individual drug personality.
A day earlier, six drug suspects, including a minor, were also apprehended by the police in similar anti-drug operations at Hope Street in Barangay 5, San Carlos City.
Nabbed were Roselyn Mori, 43; Shaina Lañojan,18; John Alphaeus Alora, 21; Danica Mori, 20; Catherine Rodriguez, 31 and a 15-year-old, whose identity is being withheld by the police.
The joint operation of PNP and operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency also led to the dismantling of a drug den and the recovery of 15 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P102,000, assorted shabu paraphernalia and P500 in marked money.
The apprehension of a drug suspect identified by the police as Nichole Valiente, a 41-year-old construction worker, in Brgy. Lag-asan, Bago City, also on Dec. 8, led to the recovery of about six grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P40,800, marked money of P1,000, a Honda RS 125 motorcycle and P716 in cash.*
