An unidentified gunman shot and killed a 39-year-old pedicab driver tagged by the police as a drug personality on November 6 at Hacienda Euzkara in Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The killing of the drug personality took place almost three weeks after a suspected drug peddler was also shot dead in Brgy. 2, San Carlos City.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his 27-year-old live-in partner were resting at an open field when the suspect, identified only as alias Jeproks, came out from the bushes.
Without any hesitation, the suspect shot the victim in the head, according to the police.
The gunman, who immediately fled after the shooting incident, spared the victim’s live-in partner.
The victim, a resident of San Juan Baybay in Brgy. 6, San Carlos City, was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City Hospital.
On the other hand, a Street Level Individual drug personality was arrested by the police during a buy bust operation inside a public cemetery in Brgy. XXI, Victorias City, also on Monday.
The apprehension of the 25-year-old drug personality, whose identity was withheld by the police, yielded seven sachets of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money.*
