An alleged drug personality and a tricycle driver were reported by the police on June 4 to have been separately killed in Pontevedra and Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, respectively.
A certain Boylin dela Torre, who was reported by the police as a drug personality, was declared dead on arrival at the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial Hospital after he was found lying on the pavement at the national highway of Brgy. Recreo in Pontevedra, early Saturday morning.
The victim, a resident of the barangay, succumbed to multiple stab wounds, according to the Pontevedra police.
Unidentified gunman also shot and killed a tricycle driver on Saturday at Lopez Jaena St. in Brgy. 1 poblacion, Hinigaran, police said.
The tricycle driver identified by the police as Leonardo Espinosa, 44, was declared dead on arrival at the Hinigaran Emergency Clinic.
Three other persons identified as Crismart Patalagsa, a 19-year-old student, Joy Faith Nonifara, 41, and Mary Grace Gratunes, were injured as a result of the shooting incident.
Patalagsa was hit on the left leg, while Nonifara and Gratunes are now being treated of their injuries on the left hand and stomach respectively, police said.
Eleven fired cartridges and a slug of a gun believed to be that of .45 caliber pistol, were recovered at the scene of incident.*
