A drug suspect was reported by the police to have been killed after a shootout with authorities on Friday in at Villa Sagrado in Barangay Burgos, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The drug suspect, with aliases of Mark Joan and Stan, 34, opened fire at the poseur buyer, upon noticing that he was dealing with a police officer, according to the investigation of the Cadiz City police.
He was declared dead on arrival at the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic, after he was shot by the policemen who retaliated.
Recovered from the scene of incident were a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing six ammunition, seven more caliber .45 ammunition, 11 fired 9mm cartridges, three fired bullets, as well as a deformed bullet.
The Cadiz police also seized about 20 grams of suspected shabu valued at P136,000.
The slain drug suspect was linked to the random shooting incident on July 10 in Silay City, which led to injuries to three victims.
A buy bust operation on July 11 at Purok 6 in Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, led to the arrest of four more drug suspects, including a 48-year-old woman and a 22-year-old student, and the seizure of about 56 grams of suspected shabu valued at P380,800.*
