A drunk man stabbed a construction worker at the house of their companion, at around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday at Purok San Francisco, Barangay Binubuhan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as Feleciano Biboso, of legal age, was having a drinking spree at the house of his friend, alias “Fredie.” The victim, identified as 50-year-old construction worker Oldarico Fernando, together with his son, were on their way home when they passed by the drinking session.
The victim and his son were about to enter the house of alias “Fredie,” who was also a companion of Fernando, when without any provocation, the suspect stabbed him in the chest and in different parts of the front of his body using a knife.
The victim’s son responded by pushing the suspect, who immediately fled the scene.
The victim’s son sought help from his uncle, and they carried the victim onto a tricycle to Bago City Hospital. He did not survive the knife attack and was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to Bago Component City Police Station Deputy Commander PCapt. Emman Anacleto, the investigation into the motive of the crime is still underway, citing that it is possible a misunderstanding between two parties occurred prior to the crime.
The police are conducting a hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the suspect and to file appropriate charges against him.*
