DSSD head retires

• CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

The head of the Department of Social Services and Development in Bacolod City has retired yesterday after serving the office for seven years.

Pacita Tero said she that although she has worked with the city for nine years, she has served the DSSD for seven years. She has also worked in other government offices in the past prior to her job with the city.

Tero said that despite her desire to continue working with the city, she has to retire upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 65.

Next in line, Sally Abelarde will be serving as officer-in-charge until a replacement will be endorsed by the mayor, she said.

Tero said that despite the challenges she faced as head of the DSSD, the Lord has given her a strong heart and the dedication to serve.

“My only intention was to serve the people and to serve God who was the One who appointed me to work here for His people,” she said.

Tero said she is currently processing her papers for retirement. She will also await her next journey.*
