Nearly 400 individuals from Negros Oriental received Product Diversification and Development Grants (PDDG) on September 17 and 18 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Negros Island Region (DSWD-NIR).
The distribution of P3,970,000 in livelihood support was done through the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), where 397 beneficiaries received P10,000 each.
The PDDG is a financial incentive awarded to SLP associations and individuals who have met performance indicators in specific program stages. It helps beneficiaries diversify product offerings, enhance quality, and expand market opportunities for more sustainable livelihoods.
On Sept. 17, beneficiaries were from the municipalities of Santa Catalina, Basay, Manjuyod, Bindoy, Ayungon, Tayasan, Jimalalud, La Libertad, Guihulngan, and Vallehermoso and from the cities of Bayawan and Canlaon. The distribution was conducted at Barangay Suba, Bayawan City, and at La Libertad gymnasium.
The payout activity is ongoing and will continue in other areas across the region until next week, DSWD-NIR stated in a press release.*
