The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Negros Island Region (DSWD-NIR) is rushing to finalize its clean list to ensure that 2,800 Grab drivers can receive their P5,000 fuel subsidy before the ongoing three-day payout for the Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) and Service Delivery Drivers ends this Saturday.
DSWD-NIR Regional Director Arwin Razo explained that the agency is actively working out the system glitch to catch up with the distribution.
The Grab drivers were excluded from the initial list of cash assistance due to a technical tagging error that mistakenly grouped their names under Region 6 instead of the newly formed NIR.
The agency extended the payout into a three-day event, running from Thursday to Saturday at SM City Bacolod.
Around 3,900 TNVS drivers across the Negros Island Region are slated to receive the fuel subsidy through the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program, with more than 3,000 coming from Bacolod City.
Razo added that if there are unclaimed subsidies, the agency will schedule a special payout.*
