DTI releases school supply price guide; 29 items cheaper

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) released on Friday the 2025 Gabay sa Pamimili ng School Supplies, just in time for the opening of classes on June 16.

The latest school supply price guide, covering 195 products under 12 categories, had 29 items reported with lower prices, 17 items with higher prices, and 101 items with stable prices. The list also introduced 48 new items.

Four notebook items had a price reduction of P5 to P10, while 24 pad papers slashed their prices by P1 to P6. One pencil brand cut prices by P5.

“As we continue to pursue President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas agenda, the DTI is committed to ensuring that Filipino families have access to reasonably priced school supplies,” DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque said.

“We know how challenging it can be for parents to prepare their children for school, so this price guide is our way of easing that burden – making sure students can return to the classroom equipped, confident, and ready to learn without putting too much strain on the family budget.”

In the 2025 edition of the price guide, prices of notebooks range from P15 to P52, pad paper from P15 to P48.75, and pencils from P11 to P24.

Ballpens are available from P3 to P33, sharpeners from P15 to P69, and rulers from P16 to P39.

Depending on the quantity, prices of crayons range from P12 to P114 while prices of erasers range from P4.50 to P20 depending on the size.
