
The city government of Dumaguete City has inoculated close to half of its total target population against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), a report from the City Health Office showed on Tuesday.
The report showed that a total of 52,543 eligible residents had received the first and second doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as of Sept. 13.
Of the number, 29,886 were administered the first dose, 22,537 also received the second dose, while the others got the one-shot Janssen vaccine.
Priority sectors A1 (health care workers), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities, A4 (other front-liners and essential workers), and A5 (indigent residents), had availed of the vaccines.
The city government has received a total of 79,700 vaccines of various brands, including Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Janssen, and Moderna.
Some of these were delivered directly to the local government unit while others were coursed through the Integrated Provincial Health Office.
On Monday, the city received a fresh delivery of vaccines from the national government.
Health officials said the city’s target population for the Covid-19 vaccination rollout is around 120,000 individuals.*PNA
