Personnel of the Municipal Government of E. B. Magalona performed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold,” then exited the buildings and ran to safer ground, as part of the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for 2024, at 2 p.m., yesterday, a press release from EBM PIO said.
The quarterly activity was spearheaded by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC), headed by Mayor Marvin Malacon, and conducted by the MDRRM Office, headed by Mary Angeline Gustilo; Bureau of Fire Protection – E. B. Magalona, headed by Acting Municipal Fire Marshal SFO3 Marc Stephen Trajeras, and Municipal Police Station, headed by Police Major Kenneth Jay Gratones.
The drill was based on the directives of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), through the Office of Civil Defense, to promote earthquake preparedness.*
