IOTA ST-68 looked like they would run away with the game early, as they dominated the Eco Plush all the way through the third quarter, leading by 18 points, 78-60.
Although the teams traded buckets throughout the fourth quarter, IOTA seized control late in the final frame to seal the win with a final score of 94-78.
Ben Buñol led all scorers with 26 points, followed by Ernie Panisa’s 16 points which went with player of the game honors. Richard Co led Eco Plush with 21 points, Harry Chua added 17, while Rine Miag-ao and Buddy Eufre totaled 12 and 11 points, respectively.
M/T-01 defeated Omikron AT 78-72.
The other game between M/T-01 and Omikron saw the latter team jumping out to a strong start and lead, 15-10, after one quarter. The M/T’s turned it up in the second and outscored their opponents, 28-22 in the quarter, to take a one point lead going into the break.
They kept control through the third and managed to continue their run until the final ten minutes, as the Omikron were unable to gain meaningful ground as the M/T acquired the win. Michael Ang led the way for M/T-01 with 15 points and player of the game honors. Kenderson Hao followed with 14, while Harry Siendo tallied 10.
Meanwhile, Ronald Delada led Omikron AT with 17 points, Kendrick Deloria followed with 14, while Edward Baniel finished with 11.*
