Eco Plush downed the top seeded team, Alpha, at the 40 up category of the ongoing Fil–Sino 1st Accelera Basketball Cup, as Buddy Eufre scored 13 points and grabbed the player of the game honors for the Eco, followed by Rine Miag-ao, Arnol Laurenio, and Harry Chua with 11 points each.
Benedict Goque also added 10 points, as the rest of the team contributed in their domination of the entire game, earning a three game winning streak.
Alpha tried to mount a rally in the third quarter, but the Ecos were ready, keeping the lead to nine points, 55-46, as the game went into the final ten minutes. The Ecos ensured the final period would be a formality by outscoring the Alpha 25-11 to end the game with a final score of 80-57.
In the other game, Omikron-AT also won their own third game in a row after facing M/T-01. The former got to an early three point lead at the end of the first quarter, 17-14. Edward Baniel came out shooting in the second, scoring 11 points, but Michael Ang answered back with 3 buckets from behind the arc to lead by four points at the break.
Omikron didn’t fall by the wayside as they pursued a bottleneck engagement and were able to maintain their lead in the final seconds of the game to snatch the 75-71 victory. Edward Baniel led Omikron-AT with 24 points, followed by DK Equipaje with 17 and player of the game honors. Michael Ang led M/T-01 with 19 points, followed by Andy Tio’s 10.*
