A birthday party in Sitio Bonbon, Barangay Inayawan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental turned bloody after an armed man gatecrashed the party and hacked an elderly victim at around 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
Investigation revealed that the victim was attending a birthday celebration and drinking with friends when the suspect, identified by the alias ‘Jian,’ arrived armed with a bolo and attacked him without warning. The suspect stabbed the victim multiple times.
As a result, the victim sustained multiple hack wounds on different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed by relatives to the hospital, where attending physicians declared him in stable condition, while the suspect fled in an unknown direction after the incident.
IN KABANKALAN CITY
A 48-year-old driver was injured after being stabbed while gambling online on Monday early morning at Purok Langka, Barangay Tabugon, Kabankalan City.
Police said the victim was playing ‘Scatter’ when the suspect, identified by the alias ‘Josh,’ 28, approached and began bothering him.
The confrontation escalated into a heated argument, leading to a physical struggle during which the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim on the left side of the neck using a bladed weapon.
The victim was brought to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital for treatment, while the suspect later voluntarily surrendered to barangay officials and was turned over to the Kabankalan PNP for proper disposition.
Police investigations for both cases are ongoing.*
