The Cadiz City Police Station in Negros Occidental got a commendation from PNP chief Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar for the immediate arrest of a suspect behind the robbery-slay of a senior high school teacher on October 6

Two days after the commission of the crime, the suspect in the killing of Jessica Ducay, a senior high school teacher, identified as Delleon del Rosario, was arrested by the Cadiz City Police Station, in coordination with the BCPO Station 8 operatives, at Purok Calong-Calong in Brgy. Sincang Airport, Bacolod City.

Del Rosario was caught in the CCTV leaving Ducay’s house in Barangay Banquerohan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, with the victim’s bag containing P79,000 cash, Eleazar, in a statement issued by the PNP Public Information Office, said.

Eleazar said that the immediate response of the PNP to the incident, forms part of their reforms being implemented.

Ducay, a 28-year-old teacher of the Dr. Vicente F. Gustilo Memorial High School in Cadiz City, succumbed to stab wounds and other injuries.

Del Rosario, who is now locked up in jail, faces charges for robbery with homicide in court.*
