The La Castellana Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental nabbed four out of five thieves, including one minor, who were allegedly caught in the act of stealing an electric transformer from a post inside the village at Hacienda Grande in Barangay Robles, yesterday afternoon.
Initial investigation stated that Luigi Solatorio, the operations manager of Canes Development Corporation, reported that five male persons entered the premises of the subdivision project, and he caught the suspects in the act of removing the transformer attached to the electric post in the subdivision.
Upon arrival of the police, suspects were apprehended while the said transformer was not yet detached from the electric post.
The suspects were Ronel Paulmitan, 34-years-old, and Jay Franz Balceda, 24-years-old, both residents of Barangay Isio in the town of Cauayan, and Diomer Jun Dollosa, 43-years-old, from Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City.
Another nabbed suspect was 17-year-old John Mark Paulmitan, who was later on turned over to the custody of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), while the other suspect, identified by his companions as Ropert Abkilan, was able to escape.
The police recovered from the possession of the suspects 3 wrenches and a Toyota Hilux pickup truck with plate number GBJ 2250.
The suspects are currently under the custody of the police, together with the recovered items for proper disposition.*
