A 45-year-old woman died after she and another member of her family were both electrocuted inside a beach resort on May 25 in Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.
According to the police, the fatality, identified as Rona Geogangco, was declared dead on arrival at the Valladolid District Hospital.
Another electrocution victim, an 80-year-old man, survived.
Police investigations indicated that both victims were on their way to a comfort room when a live wire hit the head of the 80-year-old.
When Geogangco tried to help him, she was also electrocuted, the police said.
The two victims are residents of Purok Kamatis in Brgy. Pacol, Bago City, who were on a family outing at a beach resort in Pontevedra.
The survivor is presently being treated at a hospital in Bacolod City, while the incident is still being investigated by the Pontevedra Police Station.*
