Emergency facilities to rise on Rockwell-donated lots

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Station 3 and two other emergency facilities are soon to rise at the 2,130 square meter lot donated by the Rockwell Land Corporation along Buri Road in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez and Rockwell Land chief executive officer Nestor Padilla signed the deed of donation for the 2,130 square meter land on June 9, witnessed by Rep. Greg Gasataya, and P/Col. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, among others.

It was also followed by the groundbreaking rites.

Expressing his gratitude to the Rockwell Land Corporation, Mayor Benitez and Rep. Gasataya, for their all-out support to BCPO, Coronica stressed the importance of the new facility in enhancing public safety and law enforcement capabilities in the northern part of Bacolod City.

The state of the art Police Station 3 is envisioned to not only improve service delivery and operational efficiency, but also provide better accessibility and working conditions for police personnel, he added.

Coronica said that BCPO remains committed to its mission of ensuring a safer Bacolod, through strategic partnerships and modern facilities that support effective policing and community service.

Also up for construction on the donated lot are the Mandalagan Fire Sub-Station and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Command Center.

“We found that this location would be more efficient, which is why it will serve as the very first site for our clustered emergency response facility in Bacolod City. Rockwell, thank you for being an instrument in making this milestone possible,” Benitez said in his message.

The construction of Police Station 3 will have a P20 million fund, of which P10 million has been facilitated for release by the office of Senator Francis Tolentino for implementation by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Padilla committed to providing a counterpart of P10 million from Rockwell Land.

“I’m confident that Bacolod will become a truly remarkable city – not just because we have a well-crafted master plan, but because we are blessed with generous, productive, and efficient partners who will help us realize our vision of becoming a super city,” Benitez said.* with PNA reports
