The Election Registration Board (ERB) disapproved the application of 32 out of 41 voter applicants it summoned during a recent hearing.
Bacolod Election Officer Katrina Caña said the reason their application was disapproved is because they are no longer residents of the barangay they indicated in their application for registration.
One of them is a resident of Barangay 28 while the rest have been relocated to Estefania. They admitted this during the hearing, which was the basis of the ERB for disapproving their application, she said.
Caña said they cannot file a motion for reconsideration with the ERB but they can still file a petition for inclusion court.
The total registered voters in Bacolod who are eligible to vote during the Sangguniang Kabataan and Barangay elections are about 333,000.*
