
It was all Hydrotur from the get go in the first game, as they built a 12 point lead after the first quarter. The Coolants were unfortunately freezing, and still couldn’t keep up in the second quarter, entering halftime down by 24, 51-27.
Hydrotur kept their foot on the gas, extending their lead by as much as 30 points in the third frame. Despite such a discrepancy in the scoreboard, the Coolants still tried to mount a rally, with Cris Pascua burying 4 triples in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough as Hydrotur AW 68 defeated Petromate Super Coolant 94-62.
Harvey Eslawa led the Hydrotur AW 68 with 24 points, followed by Arvin Espinitra with 17 points and player of the game honors, while Francis Tulbo and Raffy Canizares had 16 and 12 points, respectively. Cris Pascua led Petromate Super Coolant with 16 points, while Buddy Eufre and Marc Choa chipped in 10 points apiece.
In the other game, Petromate Brake and Clutch Fluid handed ATF Premium its second straight loss, with a final score of 93-81. The former got off to a fast start and never let up the entire game, setting the stage for the win.
Petromate owned an 18-11 lead through one, and then added another 3 points to their advantage by halftime. ATF attempted a second-half comeback, cutting the deficit to a single digit, but were quickly dispelled as the Petromate extended their edge on the way to the final period.
Julius Teruel led his team with 24 points, with six bombs from behind the arc and grabbing player of the game honors. Ben Bunol produced 21 points and Nike Montalvo generated 17 points. Meanwhile, Carlo Chu paced ATF Premium with 30 points while Ojay Gumbao delivered 17 points.*
