Ex-convict, 10 nabbed in buy-bust operations

An ex-convict and 10 others, including a student, were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations on July 6, 7 and 8 in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, that yielded more than P200,000 worth of suspected shabu, police said.

Two suspected drug personalities identified as Rolito Chiu, 22, and Delfin Luague, 33, are now in jail, after they were apprehended July 6 at San Julio Subdivision in Brgy. 2, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The arrest of the two drug suspects yielded about 25 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P170,000, and P10,000 buy-bust money, a report of the San Carlos City Police Station said.

‘HIGH VALUE’

Lt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6, said that Chiu was classified as a high value individual drug personality, while Luague had been jailed for 10 years at the National Bilibid Prison for a drug conviction.

The apprehension of John Mark Sayon and Clarince Arcenio in Brgys. 5 and 13 in Victorias City , on July 7, yielded a homemade 12 gauge shotgun with one live ammunition, four grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P27,200, P600 in marked money and P260 in cash, police said.

The two arrested suspects are residents of Purok Cagaycay, Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.

Another homemade 12 gauge shotgun with ammunition, P1,360 worth of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money were also recovered by the police during the arrest of Tryx Kyssbyll Majarucon, 21, in Purok San Pedro, Barangay Zone 2, Cadiz City, also on July 7.

Three other drug suspects identified as Dexter Ronzales, Michael Panadero Jr., and Neslie Olido were also separately arrested by the police in a series of buy-bust operations Wednesday in the cities of Bago and Himamaylan, and the town of Pontevedra.

The apprehension of Ronzales, a 19-year-old student, in Brgy. Alingasag, Bago City, yielded a gram of suspected shabu, worth P1,500, a cellular phone, and P560 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs, the police said.

The arrest of Panadero, a drug surrenderee, in Brgy. 2 poblacion, Pontevedra, also yielded 0.4 gram of suspected shabu valued at P2,600, a cellular phone, and P500 in marked money, while recovered from Olido in Brgy. Su-ay, Himamaylan City, were another one gram of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money, the police also said.

In Bacolod City, Station 6 policemen arrested three men in a buy-bust operation at about 1 p.m. yesterday in Brgy. Taculing.

P/Major Leo Estopa, station commander, identified those arrested as Romulo Manzader, 22, of Puentebella Subdivision, Brgy. Taculing, and his neighbors Gel Libo-on, 25, and Lucas Gelonggo, 52.

Estopa said the three were arrested at 4th Road in the subdivision for selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer.

Four additional heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised tooter, a disposable lighter, and a cellular phone were recovered after their arrest, he said.

Estopa added that the illegal drugs seized had an estimated value of P36,000 and weighed approximately five grams.*
