A former policewoman was among those arrested in separate buy bust operations on September 10 and 11, in Negros Island, which resulted in the confiscation of an estimated P3.7 million worth of suspected shabu.
The arrest of the former policewoman, identified only as ‘Tata,’ during a buy bust operation on Wednesday at Purok Dol-Dol in Brgy. 2 Poblacion, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, yielded about 45 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P306,000.
PLt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region, disclosed that Tata, 30, was dismissed from service in 2023, for being AWOL (Absent-Without Leave), or grave neglect of duty. Prior to her dismissal from service, she was assigned at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of Police Regional Office 6 in Iloilo City.
Aside from confiscated illegal drugs, authorities also recovered a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing five ammunition, and P1,000 in marked money.
Another buy bust operation on Thursday in Brgy. San Miguel, Bacong in Negros Oriental, led to the seizure about half a kilogram of suspected shabu, valued at P3,400,000.
Nabbed was alias Cyrel, 56, of Brgy. Poblacion, Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental.
Tata and Cyrel are categorized by the police as High Value Individual drug personalities.*
