Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran is currently the acting mayor of Bacolod City, after Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez issued memorandum order 0080 designating him as acting mayor of Bacolod City from May 30 to June 6.
Benitez said he will be traveling abroad during that period.
As such, under Section 46(a) of the Local Government Code of 1991, Familiaran shall exercise the powers and perform the duties and functions of the Local Chief Executive, except for the power to appoint, suspend or dismiss employees, he added.*
