A farmer was reported by the police to have been shot and killed by still unidentified suspects on May 30 in Sitio Sangay, Brgy. Hilub-ang, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
The 43-year-old victim, whose identity was withheld by the Calatrava police, was on his way home after pasturing his carabao, when he was waylaid and shot several times by the suspects.
According to the police, the victim, who succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries, was declared dead on arrival at the Calatrava Municipal Hospital.
Police probers are facing a blank wall in their investigation, as to the identities of the suspects.
On the other hand, a 49-year-old tricycle driver was found dead on Thursday in Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City.
The victim, according to the witness, was found lying unconscious behind a Ceres Liner passenger bus terminal.
He was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City Health Office, as reported by the police.*
