A stabbing incident occurred at Purok Mahogany, Barangay Agboy, Candoni, Negros Occidental on Tuesday where a farmer and a laborer stabbed each other, resulting in the death of the 50-year-old male farmer, a resident of the said area.
According to the investigation conducted by Candoni Municipal Police Station, the farmer together with other colleagues, including the suspect, were having a drinking spree at the area, when a misunderstanding occurred between the two, which led to an altercation.
Due to heated arguments, the farmer was suddenly punched by the suspect. The former went home, returned to the scene armed with a bladed weapon, and started attacking the laborer. During the fracas, the laborer managed to grab hold of the weapon and stabbed the farmer multiple times.
The farmer was brought by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The suspect is a 35-year-old male laborer and a resident of Himamaylan City. He is currently being treated for his injuries at the Rural Health Unit, police said.
BUY-BUST OPS
Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office seized more than P156,000 worth of shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Manapla and Pontevedra on Tuesday.
Seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing 16 grams with a standard drug price of P108,800 were confiscated by the Manapla Municipal Police Station at Hacienda Anecita, Barangay San Pablo, during the buy-bust operation.
The suspect was identified as alias “Isat,” 49-years-old and a resident of the barangay.
At the same time, another operation was conducted by Pontevedra police at Purok Caingin, Barangay 3-Poblacion, resulting in the arrest of alias “Mickie,” an 18-year-old jobless male.
The police recovered from his possession 4 pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item, with an estimated drug value of P47,600.
The arrested suspects are under the custody of their respective municipal police stations for proper disposition, while the confiscated items were brought for laboratory examination.*
