Unidentified gunmen separately shot and killed a member of an anti-crime organization and a truck driver on March 10 and 11 in Moises Padilla and Sagay City, Negros Occidental, the police said.
Farmer Rusty Sumer, 27, was on his way home driving a Honda TMX tricycle from Hacienda Tres Corazones when he was waylaid and shot by an unidentified gunman on March 11 in Brgy. Inolingan, Moises Padilla, police investigations showed.
The police report said the victim died on the spot after being shot by the gunman several times.
Policemen who responded to the incident recovered four fired cartridges of a 45 caliber pistol.
Also recovered from the crime scene were a sling bag containing a cellular phone, assorted identification cards of Motorcycle Riders Against Crime unit and Bureau of Internal Revenue , a flash light, and motorcycle documents.
The Moises Padilla police has yet to establish the motive for the shooting.
In Sagay City, a truck driver identified by the police as Antonio Gallo was declared dead on arrival at a hospital after he was shot inside his residence March 10 in Sitio Chloe, Brgy. Rizal, Sagay City.
Gallo, 57, succumbed to two gunshot wounds in the head, according to initial investigations of the police.
A deformed slug of a still unidentified caliber of firearm was recovered at the scene of incident.
The two shooting incidents are still being investigated by the police.*
