The Katilingban Sang Mangunguma Kag Mamumugon Sang Barangay Nagasi Federation (KAMMANA) received P100,000 worth of Rice Trading Livelihood Assistance from the La Carlota City government, as facilitated by the Army’s 62nd Infantry Battalion.
The livelihood support aims to provide poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers with access to grant assistance for livelihood ventures, as well as to increase income and offer alternative employment opportunities, particularly to the KAMMANA members, according to a statement issued by the 62IB.
The turnover ceremony was recently held at Barangay Poblacion, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, with the assistance was personally turned over by Mayor Rex Jalandoon, who is also the City Task Force ELCAC chairperson, to Felix Sunalan, President of the KAMMANA Federation.
This collaborative effort highlights the commitment of the Philippine Army and government agencies to sustain peace and development in central Negros while providing opportunities for people’s organizations to thrive, a statement from 62IB further said.*
