A fashion show featuring the latest black and white creations of renowned fashion designer John John Ditching was held at the ancestral house of former Congressman Raymundo Vargas at Hernaez Street, Bacolod City on October 9, in celebration of the life of the late Remedios Vargas.

The show dubbed “A Legacy Fashion Show” was organized by former IIog vice mayor Mark Vargas as a tribute to his late mother Remedios Vargas on what would have been her 90th birthday.

Directed by Dwight Rosslyn Morana, past president of Negros Events and Wedding Planners Association (NEWPA), the fashion show also featured Miss Universe Philippines Negros Occidental 2025 Maxine Louise Martin as one of the models.

Mark said the celebration marks his mother’s first death anniversary which is why he, along with his guests came in black and white. The event was also attended by members of the Circulo de Bacolod led by its president Sandra Ruth Sycip, where he is a member.

He recalled that his mother really loved fashion especially wearing gowns, so he plans to put up a Negros Island Region (NIR) fashion shop with Ditching as his sole guest designer.

Special performances were rendered by famous impersonator Diva Concil, contemporary dancer Daryl Odango, and artist Dino Cajili which added life to the celebration. NOPSSCEA Cultural Competition silver medalist Pedro Ubaldo also belted out songs to entertain prominent guests in attendance.*
