The Negrense Artists Circle Inc. (NACI) is currently holding a tribute exhibit titled “McDo: Sa Puso ng Pinoy” at McCafe at The Upper East, Bacolod City in celebration of its second year anniversary.
The exhibit is a gesture of gratitude as McDonald’s The UpperEast, as having been a venue for their artworks for two years in a row, a statement from the group said.
Each piece on display is crafted from discarded McDonald’s materials – from paper bags, coffee cups, tray liners and fries containers. The artists had transformed these everyday items into thought-provoking Pinoy Pop artwork, sculptures, and paintings that challenges visitors to rethink their relationship with fast food and consumer culture.

The exhibit sparks conversations about art, consumerism, and the role of waste in our society. NACI aims to ignite the interest of visitors that as they leave the exhibit, they would look at McDonald’s with new eyes, thinking what materials they might find to create their own masterpiece.
Guests of honor at the opening Monday were Anabella Vasques, operation consultant of Choice Gourmet Banquet Inc.; Xz Los Bañes, restaurant general manager of McDonald’s The Upper East; Jogie Viceo, Megaworld Township director;
Christine Yusingco – Torre, Megaworld General Manager Lifestyle Mall; Melanina Antoniano, Tourism Operations Officer 1 of Bacolod City Tourism Office, representing Ma Teresa Manalili.*
