The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is requesting the Department of Social Welfare and Development to fast-track the release of the remaining second tranche for about 20,000 Social Amelioration Program (SAP) beneficiaries and former 4Ps dependents in the city.

Based on a resolution, about 20,000 beneficiaries were not able to receive the financial assistance and were advised by the Department of Social Services and Development department to inquire from their respective barangays for the claiming schedules.

Most SAP beneficiaries have already received the second tranche of assistance, either during the payouts in the barangays, or through digital pay-out centers, the resolution cited.

It also stressed the need for the beneficiaries to receive the assistance and its release, considering that they are among the poorest of the poor, unemployed and marginalized, who have already suffered so much during the pandemic.

The Bacolod SP appealed to the DSWD regional office to fast-track the release of SAP to help the beneficiaries.

The resolution was authored by Councilor Simplicia Distrito and co-authored by councilors Dindo Ramos, Al Victor Espino, Ana Marie Palermo, and Bartolome Orola Sr.*
