February Cheryl recently held her solo art exhibition, featuring vivid artworks, inspired by nature’s beauty, at the UAS Gallery in Manila, from November 10 to 21.
Tilted “Beyond Colors”, the exhibition showcased Cheryl’s distinctive perspective through stunning artworks, including a massive 7 feet x 10 feet post-impressionistic painting.
Her artistic journey is a demonstration of her remarkable transformation, from a career in medical sciences and business to embracing her true passion for art.
Bacolod-based artist February Cheryl was born in the small island of Visayas, in 1978. Her father is a landowner, and her mother is an entrepreneur and art enthusiast who also sketches figures and landscapes. Her mother’s passion for artwork and encouragement have greatly influenced February Cheryl’s skills and courage to excel since childhood. In college, she majored in the medical sciences and proceeded with her studies in Soil Microbiology abroad. She worked as a business consultant in Makati City, but her passion for the arts has been a clarion call. Still, she followed her parents’ business and ventured into farming in 2016.
She is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Field President and the Science of OrgaFer Range of Foliar Fertilizer Manufacturing. Being occupied with work, in December 2022, she turned again to painting and participated in various exhibits and group shows.
She finds painting a creative way to express her feelings, reduce stress in her business world, and a delightful reminder of happy memories.
The opening was attended by UAS Gallery co-founders: Isa Lan, Gary Montenegro, Rey Adolfo, Jonna Fe Custodio-Adraque, and Eleanor Oberio. Notably present was Benedict Abaygar, Jr., Director of the National Press Club of the Philippines, and artist-curator, Ralph Lauren Barola.*
