Acclaimed Visayan visual artist Anthony Fermin, a self-taught painter known for his colorful and vibrant paintings depicting the Filipino way of life, will open his solo art exhibit at Charlie’s Gallery of the Italia Restaurant in Bacolod City on December 21.
Fermin has exhibited locally and internationally, namely the USA, Berlin, Malaysia and Australia, and had been involved in community projects to help homeless kids and women who are victims of prostitution, among others.
Despite the many trials he had gone through in life, he continues to have faith that there will come a harvest season, Fermin stressed.
Just like a farmer who waits patiently for the rain and the harvest after planting his crop, he has learned to be patient in all circumstances, he said.

This optimism is reflected in his upcoming solo art exhibit at Charlie’s Gallery at Italia Restaurant, opening on December 15, titled “Seasons”, which is based on a biblical passage in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
Fermin said that no matter the season, he just continues to do his work. “My season is my faith in God who is the source of my life and everything.”
The colors in his paintings reveal his innermost passion for his love for art. “I am very much contented with the gift that God has given me,” he said.*
