The Fil-Sino Athletic Club started its first conference of 2023 with the 1st Michael Miranda Memorial Basketball Tournament, sponsored by Asia Brewery Inc.
The opening ceremony was graced by Christine Miranda, Christine Michelle Miranda, Jeranie Villarosa, Bacolod Manager of Asia Brewery Inc., and the officers of Fil-Sino Athletic Club led by their President Mr. Jimmy Yap.
The participating teams are Cobra Energy Drink, Summit Natural Drinking Water, Vitamilk, Tiger Black, Brew Kettle, Spritz Hard Seltzer, Asahi, Tanduay Ice, Heineken, Beer na Beer, and Absolute Distilled Water.
In the first game, Summit defeated Cobra 97-71 behind Miko Yee’s 21 point second half explosion. Gerald Baldonado led all scorers with 23 points, Kim Dimaranan 13, and Jappy Cuaycong 11 for Summit. Jay Taleon tallied 21 points for Cobra with contributions from Jerson Mira – 10, and Jessie Moreño – 9.
In other games, Tiger Black defeated Vitamilk, 101-100. Brew Kettle won over Spritz Hard Seltzer 109-85 while Asahi defeated Tanduay Ice 86-77.*
