As part of Bacolod City’s bid to become a UNESCO Creative City of Film, the second day of the Stories with a Smile: A Creative Bacolod Youth Workshop and Filmmaking Bootcamp was held through the city’s Department of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (D-LEDIP) yesterday in Bacolod City, a press release from Bacolod PIO said.
The participating schools were Colegio de San Agustin Bacolod, La Consolacion Bacolod, Thames International School, and Lamblight International School.
Students joined sessions on Who Is Bacolod City? and storyboarding in the morning, followed by workshops on film editing, directing, cinematography, acting, and scriptwriting in the afternoon. Local artists and filmmakers facilitated these hands-on activities, giving participants valuable insights into filmmaking. Councilor Em Ang also attended the event to support Bacolod’s creative youth.
The boot camp concludes tomorrow, with students creating and screening their short films. Outstanding works will be awarded.*
