Fire razed about half-hectare of the Northern Negros Natural Park in Spur 21, Brgy. Kumaliskis, Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Engr. Joan Nathaniel Gerangaya, NNNP superintendent, said the fire of still undetermined origin, razed a portion of the forest planted with Acacia mangium and other trees of endangered species.
Senior Fire Officer 2 Laddy Maglasang, officer-in-charge of the Salvador Benedicto Bureau of Fire Protection, told Aksyon Radyo that the fire started past noon yesterday. She said their initial investigation showed that nobody was hurt in the fire that was put out at 1 p.m.*
