Fire hits 21 Bacolod homes

Twenty-one houses were gutted by an early morning fire on June 26 that hit an informal settlers’ area at Purok Magti-ayon, Barangay 10, Bacolod City.

Of the burned houses, the Bureau of Fire Protection reported that 16 were destroyed, while five were partially damaged.

No one was reported hurt during the incident, but a total of 34 families were affected by the fire, F/Supt. Jenny Mae Masip, City Fire Marshall said.

Arson probers are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.

Initial damage was reported at P200,000.

A total of 14 fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the fire that was reported to the BFP at 12:16 a.m., and declared fire out at 12:57 a.m. Wednesday.*
