The Bacolod City Fire Station issued a public announcement yesterday to reassure residents that all its personnel and volunteers are safe and accounted for, contradicting circulating reports.
In a statement, the agency assured that no responder was swept away by floodwaters during rescue operations.
The BFP specifically addressed the rumors concerning an incident near Purok Mars, Barangay Singcang-Airport, and Purok Lechonan, Barangay 36, Bacolod City.
The agency stated that the reported rescue operations were indeed conducted in response to the effects of Tropical Depression Verbena.
“Our teams continue to work tirelessly to assist the affected communities,” it said.
