Fishing by the Bay winners named

Bimbo Dela Cruz was declared the champion of the 2nd Fishing by the Bay 2023 at the Bacolod Baywalk Recreational Park in Bacolod City last December 10.

The Fishing by the Bay 2023 is a fun fishing tournament open to all fishing enthusiasts. The event was organized by Tribu Kibyas Anglers Club and Tribu Kibyas Tackle Shop in cooperation with Baywalk.

Dela Cruz (grouper-310g) bagged the championship over second placer Emmanuel Buenavista (grouper-240g) and 3rd placer Arnold Gaspalinao (Mud Crab- 200g).

Winner for the Most Catch was Keyton Mark Alfonso (187 fishes), Smallest Catch – CJ  Paguntalan (4.8cm  fish), Longest Catch -Harisson Mombay (needlefish), and Rare Catch – Ian Miguel dela Cruz (Mud crab).

The vision of Tribu Kibyas Anglers Club, a non-profit organization of anglers and fishing enthusiasts, is to promote social awareness as to the legalities set by the government in preserving marine resources through various sustainable fishing methods.

By 2030, Tribu Kibyas Anglers Club aims to actively educate fisherfolk in Negros Occidental on responsible and sustainable fishing and help the government in securing the ocean’s resources for the next generation.*
