A 69-year-old man was hacked by a fellow fishpond worker, while resting in a bamboo hut on Wednesday afternoon at San Francisco, Barangay Alicante, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.
Initial investigation by the EB Magalona Municipal Police Station revealed that the victim was resting in a bamboo hut near a fishpond, when the suspect, alias Charly, 44, suddenly approached him.
Police stated that, without apparent reason, the suspect attacked and hacked the victim’s shoulder and various parts of his body.
The victim sustained multiple injuries and was brought to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
The victim and the suspect are co-workers at the fishpond.
Following a hot pursuit operation conducted by the EB Magalona MPS, the suspect was successfully apprehended and is currently in the custody of the station for proper disposition.*
