Two men on a motorcycle gunned down a former drug detainee along Rosario Street in Bacolod City at about 7:10 p.m. Monday.
Drug links and old grudges are among the motives being looked into in the killing of Roue Senador, “alias Jun-Jun”, Station 1 commander, P/Major Ramel Sarona, said.
Senador, 52, of Purok Malapitan in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City, was heading east of Rosario Street on his black Rusi motorcycle when the suspects blocked his way and shot him.
Witnesses claimed that they heard at least three gunshots before they saw Senador lying bloodied on the pavement, Sarona said.
A closed-circuit television camera footage showed the suspects wearing crash helmets and escaping towards Mabini Street, he said.
Sarona added that members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered three fired cartridges of a .9 millimeter pistol at the crime scene.
Richard Venegas, one of the rescuers from the City Risk Reduction and Management Office, checked on Senador but he had no pulse and was no longer breathing. Sarona said that the victim’s wife, whom he did not identify, told them that he was previously arrested for marijuana possession.*
