Found dead body, ID’d by family

• THERESA MAE DULMAN

Authorities have identified the body of a man discovered in Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, on Thursday morning, March 5.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old alias ‘Welton,’ a resident of Barangay Tangub.

Bacolod Police Station 8 said that the family coordinated after the victim went missing, later confirming his identity at a local funeral parlor.

According to the victim’s mother, the deceased left their residence at around 7 p.m. on March 4 to visit a friend, but he failed to return home that evening.

The body was located the following morning in Bangga Adam, Barangay Pahanocoy.

At the time of discovery, the victim was wearing only boxer shorts and had sustained visible injuries to his feet and neck.

Investigators are currently conducting backtracking operations to establish the victim’s background and determine his final movements, including identifying his last known companions.

While the police await a formal report from the Scene of the Crime Operatives, they intend to request an autopsy to determine the specific cause of death.

The police withheld the victim’s full name as the investigation remains active, and the family has requested privacy while they manage funeral arrangements.*
