The Visayas consultative meeting of tourism and travel stakeholders, spearheaded by the Tourism Congress Philippines (TCP), is slated in Cebu on June 26 at Bai Hotel Cebu.
Leading the preparations is Toots Jimenez Jr., TCP vice-president for Visayas. The Office of the Secretary Tourism Central Office has confirmed the presence of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco as keynote speaker on official invitation by TCP president James Montenegro.
The TCP is created by law to be the private advisory body of the Department of Tourism. Several resource speakers are lined up for this activity of the TCP, including Mark Lapid, COO of TIEZA; Harold Geronimo, VP for PR and Media Affairs of Megaworld Corporation; Marides Fernando, founder of CASAP school; Jam Mabanta of Fastcat; Avinash Menon of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts; and Walid Kalif, SVP of SMX Hotels and Conventions.
The resource speakers will be sharing their knowledge on the different aspects of the tourism world and their experiences as movers in tourism.
The gathering will be attended by tourism and travel stakeholders, registered personalities who are hoteliers, travel agents, resort owners, tour operators, restaurateurs, M.I.C.E. developers and movers, Jimenez said.
The theme of this year’s meeting is “Ekonomiya sa Turismo, Maghatag Progreso”.*
