The Sipalay City Health Office launched the Free Dental Prosthesis/Denture with the theme “Operation Pa-ngipon for all Sipalaynon” on July 8, at the city’s New Government Center.

City Administrator Philip Zamora, who attended the event on behalf of Mayor Maria Gina Lizares and Vice-Mayor Oscar Montilla Jr., said that the program is a special project of the Sipalay City government for the betterment of its constituents.

Dr. Florencio Juplo II, in his welcome address, said that due to the pandemic, many Sipalaynon were not able to give importance to their oral health.

Dr. Teofil Vidamo of the Provincial Health Office gave a short lecture to educate Sipalaynons on the causes of common oral diseases, their signs and symptoms, and how to control and prevent these oral diseases.

The program aimed at restoring lost teeth; giving the patients a healthier oral environment, better speech and chewing; and preventing facial asymmetry.

A total of 107 participants received dental kits, free dentures, and denture cases.

Also present during the event were Dr. Gilda Alvarez, the dental team from Provincial Health Office, and resource speakers Dr. Ma. Camille Carmona and Dr. Philip Stephen Uychiat.*
