About 350 kilos of frozen food and meat products were seized by the Veterinary Office and the police during an operation in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, for lack of documents and mishandling of products, City Veterinarian Dr. Josue Rabang said.
The shipment was transported with no meat inspection certificate and originated from Bacolod City. It was seized on Tuesday as the Cadiz City government remains vigilant against the possible entry of the African swine fever. Rabang said the vehicle and its occupants were released and ordered to return to their place of origin, while the confiscated items were immediately burned and buried.*
