Prices of petroleum products will go up beginning Tuesday, the Department of Energy (DOE) said on Monday.
Estimates released by the agency’s Oil Industry Monitoring Board (OIMB) showed that gasoline prices will increase by P1.60 per liter.
Diesel will rise by P1.96 per liter while kerosene prices will also increase by P1.45 per liter.
Domestic fuel supply, meanwhile, is still enough for 44.82 days.
OIMB data showed that gasoline supply remains adequate for around 45.87 days, diesel, 41.07 days; kerosene, 138.93 days; jet fuel, 66.41 days; fuel oil, 47.17 days; and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), 41.49 days.
To help ease the impact of oil price hikes, the government earlier expanded access to the PHP10-per-liter Fuel Subsidy Program (FSP) by onboarding all liquid fuel retail outlets (LFROs) nationwide.
This allowed eligible public utility jeepney and utility vehicle (UV) Express drivers to claim their fuel benefits at more stations, more conveniently, wherever they are.
As part of the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Program, the FSP provides eligible beneficiaries with up to PHP1,500 per vehicle per week for three months.
DOE data showed that as of May 18, at least 938 stations are now fully operational and able to serve eligible public utility jeepney and UV Express drivers.
The network spans major transport corridors across the country. Of the fully operational fuel stations, Luzon accounts for 616 stations. Visayas has 172 stations, while Mindanao has 150 stations.*PNA
