Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya delivering his State of the District Address*

The Bacolod Negros Occidental Economic Highway from Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City to the boundary of Talisay will be passable by August 30.

This was announced by Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya during his State of the District Address (SODA) dubbed “Serbisyong may Puso” at the USLS Coliseum Sunday, as he reported his achievements, which focused on education, health, and sports, before thousands of his supporters, barangay and city officials.

Gasataya said he has requested the Department of Public Works and Highways to fast track the completion of the project that will traverse Brgys. Sum-ag, Cabug, Felisa, Mansilingan, Vista Alegre, Granada, Estefania, Manadalagan, and Bata.

He also said that Phase 1 of the Bacolod City General Hospital in Vista Alegre is nearing completion, while Phase 2 is almost 50 percent done, while works have started in Phase 3. Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri and the Department of Health have committed to provide additional budget.

The solon also reported that his office provided various assistance to 22,711 beneficiaries from 2016 to 2024.

About 6,731 beneficiaries have availed of burial assistance, while 40,263 availed of financial assistance from 2016 to 2024.

A total 18,087 beneficiaries availed of MAIP assistance at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital; while 20,990 have availed of the DOLE TUPAD program from 2016 to 2024; and 6,300 have availed of the AKAP program from May to July 2024.

The Bacolod Congressional Office has provided scholarships to 10,244 students from 2017 to 2024, and has constructed 14 health centers, 338 multi-purpose building, 21 barangay halls, provided 24 barangay vehicles, constructed eight markets, 767 classrooms in 33 schools, implemented 125 flood control and drainage projects, constructed 36 bridges, implemented 221 road projects, constructed 28 farm to market roads, and paid off P50,989,000 of medical bills benefiting 279 patients.

In an interview, Gasataya, a last term congressman, said his constituents should expect more projects in the remaining months of his term, as well as more social services as his office has requested for more funds to provide assistance to his constituents.

He stressed that his “brand of service” is his legacy to the people of Bacolod.*
