The yearly gift-giving for underprivileged children of the community identified by the Rotary Club of Bacolod and Robinson’s Place Bacolod was held last December 17 at the Main Atrium of the mall, a press release from the Rotary Club of Bacolod said.
One-hundred-fifty children were granted with their gift wishes during this project which is already in its 24th year, headed by Rotary Club of Bacolod project chairperson Bea Gilbor and vice chairperson Edlyn Agraviador. The kids came from different sectors namely the Ata Community of Sagay, the Home for the Blind, and the Urban Coastal Areas of Bacolod City, it said.
The Rotarians, sponsors, and Robinson’s shoppers were given the chance to choose stars bearing the name of the children and their wishes. The gift- giving was then held with a program featuring the USLS Chorale, a magical act, food carts with hotdogs, popcorn and cotton candy and lunch meal from Jollibee sponsored by Kenbe Construction and Supplies and Golden Adventures Travel Agency.
Everyone was welcomed by Robinson’s Mall Operations Manager Mary Jo San Marte. President Andre Familiaran of Rotary Club of Bacolod shared in his speech “Our wishes have been granted today as we dream to provide hope for the children in the community to help make their dreams into realities.”
Among the wishes granted were bicycles, food packs, groceries, toys and clothes that delighted the young children.*
