It will be a Mark Golez and Ryan Gamboa tandem in Silay City, Negros Occidental, during the midterm polls next year.
Both were also endorsed by Third District Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez and Abang Lingkod party list Rep. Stephen Joseph Paduano, during a meeting yesterday at the Negros Occidental Metro Third congressional office in Talisay City.
Golez, who was chosen as the Asenso Silay mayoral candidate during the local party convention recently held in Victorias City, yesterday said that incumbent councilor Ryan Gamboa accepted the offer to be his vice mayoral candidate in the elections next year.
The Golez-Gamboa tandem comes in the wake of the admission of Vice Mayor Thomas Maynard Ledesma that he was offered by Silay City Mayor Joedith Gallego to join the latter’s group.
Gallego defeated Golez during the 2022 elections. Ledesma, the running mate of Golez then, won in the vice mayoralty race.
Golez vowed to bring back the glory of Silay, including good governance, and a government, against corruption, to ensure the delivery of basic services to the Silaynons, among others.
His mantra remains “Asenso sang Silay, Asenso sang Panimalay.”*
