The Abanse Negrense Governor’s Cup Taekwondo Championship will be held at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City on November 19, a press release from the organizers said.
Vic Feria, overall coach of Hanah Taekwondo Academy and tournament manager for the Governor’s Cup Taekwondo Championships, said this will be the first ever Governor’s Cup to be held in Bacolod City as previous editions were held outside of the city.
“This Taekwondo competition is an initiative of Governor Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson with the aim to develop martial arts skills in the grassroots level in the province with the hope of discovering and molding future world-class Negrense athletes who will bring pride and honor by winning medals in national and international competitions,” he said.
The competition will be open to all interested Negrense taekwondo jins. No registration fee is required while cash prizes await the winners, Feria added.*
