A local government employee was among the eight drug suspects arrested by the police in a series of buy bust operations on January 6 in Negros Occidental, leading to the confiscation of an estimated P86,960 worth of suspected shabu.
Alias Pangga, a 45-year-old regular employee of the Sagay City government, assigned at the General Services Office, was apprehended by the police on Monday during a buy bust operation at Lady Circle in Barangay Rizal, Sagay City.
His arrest, according to the Sagay City police, yielded more or less 4.6 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P31,280, and P500 in marked money.
Another buy bust operation at Hacienda Ricky in Brgy. Paraiso, also in Sagay City, led to the arrest of an alias Nonoy, and the recovery of about 2.2 grams of suspected shabu valued at P14,960, as well as P500 in marked money.
The apprehension of alias Baldo, a tricycle driver, and alias Estoy, a construction worker, during a buy bust operation at Sitio Lugway in Brgy. Gargato, Hinigaran, also yielded four sachets of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money, and improvised shabu paraphernalia.
Policemen also arrested four more drug suspects in simultaneous anti-drug operations in the cities of La Carlota and Talisay, as well as in La Castellana, Negros Occidental, which led to the confiscation of an estimated six grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P40,800, and P1,500 in marked money, according to reports of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.*
